What Will You Learn as a Special Education Student?
- You’ll build a strong foundation of skills to better serve the needs of diverse learners, including how to create an inclusive classroom, intercultural communication techniques, and best practices in accommodations and adaptations in literacy.
- You’ll discover how to effectively teach special education with courses that explore psychology, curriculum and instruction, technology in the classroom, and relevant issues, laws, and trends in special education.
- You’ll gain essential course and field experience in special education as well as complete an internship.
- You’ll explore behavioral management techniques, assessment strategies, and effective practices within the field of special education. You’ll also learn how to understand and apply Family Service Plans (IFSPs), Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and Section 504 Plans in collaboration with others.
